I've come to see the Bindweed
(408.13) blossom as an example of the visual grace that is
available to those of us who spend time among the uncultivated
plants at the park. Related to the Morning Glory, it is considered
invasive and undesirable to those who garden and wish their territory
un-invaded. Other plants, however, do find a way to share space with
the tangling vines of Bindweed and out here, it is a gardener-free environment.
For Dog-Day
Harvest Fly fans only: Yes, I have heard the whirring and
chirring from the trees on June 30th (I usually don't hear them
till late July.
