Late September 2008
I
think I've seen one before, but I got a photo this time of the Golden
tortoise beetle (376.11). Strikingly metallic, but tiny,
these leaf eaters are able to change their color - the one here
was at its um. . . goldenest :-)

The ritual
immersing of Ganesh was evident on a smaller scale than last year here
and the few small statues all appeared to be made of clay and quickly
dissolved.

The Wolf spider (376.5) and the
Jumping spider (376.13) are two spiders that rely on surprise, stealth and
speed rather than webs to snare their prey.

The
Bur Cucumber (376.8) is similar to the Wild Cucumber I found last time
- these are smaller, the fruits in clusters and similarly inedible.

Beeflies,
easily as attractive and interesting as the honeybees, these flies suffer
association with other flies - Anyway, fly honey doesn't sound as
appealing. |
